Economists for Future is synthesising a case for change. To us, that means twofold: first, articulating and quantify the ways in which the profession is currently failing to sufficiently engage in the planetary crisis. And second, analysing ways this could change. This work underpins the campaigns we run.

How well do economics journals cover the climate and ecological crisis?

This research note investigates the extent to which geographical exclusion is mirrored in economics journal publications. A data set of articles studying climate economics in the top 20 economics journals was analysed, with a focus on the geographic locations of the authors’ institutions.
